About Library

The Library is the heart of the college. Library plays vital role in the development of both students as well as the faculty. The Library is trinity of students, Faculty & Resources. It builds collection and creates tools to support teaching and learning, to provide better services to its users Bhagwan Mahavidyalaya (Arts, Commerce & Sci) Ashti established its own library in the year 1991 for students as well as for faculty members. It is easily accessible to the departments and Classrooms. It has more than 19206 books 28 periodicals & journals and other resources as well as 37 Newspapers.

It is computerized and can accommodate around 60 readers at a time. It Library is well-equipped with excellent Books and all modern facilities like internet browsing, Online database, Online Journals and CD- DVD,S etc. It uses readymade software "SOUL" (Software for University Library) developed by INFLIBNET centre, Ahmedabad.

Mission:

The Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for faculty and students of the College and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge

Vision

The Library aims to be the best among Academic college libraries in this area. It intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach towards students and faculty. It intends to offer comprehensive services related to dissemination of knowledge

Library Computerization:

It uses readymade software "SOUL" Version 3.0.0 limited edition, developed by INFLIBNET centre, Ahmedabad which supports all in-house operations of the Library. The SOUL Campus consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) of SOUL software. It is a powerful search engine for the retrieval of any bibliographic database on-line. The search options include Title, Author, Subject, Class number, ISBN, Publisher, Accession Number, Series/Note/Volume, free Text search and Boolean Search, for the retrieval of books. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books. The editing and updating activities are in progress .Books Classification & Bar-coding works are also in progress.

Library Committee:

The library committee has been constituted for smooth running of library functions.
The library committee works for the following causes :

  • To provide proper organization and functioning of the Library
  • To prepare the annual budget and proposals for the development of Library
  • To provide modernization and improvement of library
  • Annual stock verification
  • To Check for requirement from all heads of the Departments
  • To deal with other matters connected with the library

LIBRARY RULES:

  • Identity card is compulsory to all enrolled students .
  • Two books at a time will be issued to the students.
  • The books must be returned on or before the due date.
  • Delay in returning the books within prescribed due date will fine the students.
  • Students should take care of books issued to him/her. They should inform about missing pages to library staff at the time of issue and obtain attestation of library at the missing part of the book.
  • Any attempt to damage the book or cutting out any matter from the book or defacing or tearing pages will be treated as misconduct.
  • Misbehavior will be a sufficient reason for cancellation of admission.
  • All the books issued to the students must be returned before the commencement of annual exam.
  • Reference books/Rare books will not be issued out. However, they can be made available to the students only in the reading room.
  • In case of any grievances, contact the librarian.

READING HALL RULES:

  • The Reading Room remains open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on every working day.
  • Admission to the Reading Room without identity card is prohibited.
  • Student can borrow textbooks, magazines, question paper sets etc, on their identity card.
  • Books and periodicals for competition examinations are available in Reading Room
  • Books/Study material issued from the reading room must be returned before leaving the Reading Room.
  • Indiscipline /Misbehavior in the Reading Room shall not be tolerated.
  • Silence must be strictly observed in the Reading Room.
  • After entering into the Reading Hall students have to enter their names in entry register.
  • Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Reference Books, University Question Papers will not be allowed to take at home.

Library Services:

The library provides following services to the users

Circulation Service:

The Library provides books to students. According to the category we provide books for users.

Reference service:

Reference books are made available in our library available to the students. Sometimes if they are not available they are made provide we from other colleges if it is not available.

Current awareness service:

New books are displayed on arrival rack.

Text Book Service:

Important and prescribed text books are available in the library

Photocopying service:

The photocopying serviced is available in the library for journals, articles and rare books.

Inter Library loan:

The inter library loan helps one to get information which is not available in our library, from others libraries like Anandrao Dhonde alias Babaji Mahavidyalay Kada & Adv. B.D. Hambarde College, Ashti.

Newspaper service:

Library has subscribed 37 daily newspapers for the benefit of its users.


Online Journals:

The Library has online access to N-List under UGC-INFLIBNET and Remote Access Service of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University,Chattrapati Sanbhajinagar.

Question Paper service:

The Question papers of all the university are made available in the Library.

Audio Video facility:

The library has a LCD Projector Video player-cum-recorder, DTH connection etc. For audio visual Screening/Playback facility.

Internet Searching and Printing service:

The Central Library provides LAN connected for users in of our college. Internet service is available from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm on all working days. So, the readers can access our online books/journals browsing service as it is free of cost.

Information Display:

Library provides information such as New Arrivals, Library Rules, Journals List, Notices, News Paper Clipping etc. It is displayed on Library Notice Board from time to time

User Orientation Program:

Librarian & Library Staff guides users about OPAC, internet and open source.

Bar Code –Based Circulation System:

All the books in the library are bar-coded & all the books are maintained with the latest version 3.0 of SOUL.

Power Back Up:

Power Back up Facility for all equipment is available during power failure period.

Location:

Library provides location to users for easily accessible books.

Library has facility of LCD projector to enhance the knowledge.

  • MoU:

The Central Library of our College has signed an MoU with the Central Library of Ashti Taluka Shikshan Prsarak Manals Adv. B.D. Hambarde Mahavidyalay Ashti to initiate and continue co-operation activities in mutual interest areas for the period of five years from 10 December 2021, taking  into consideration the following objectives :

  • Exchange of books and study material
  • Exchange of periodicals and reference books
  • Joint organization of programs like book exhibition
